Civil Rights

Civil rights including all forms of race, gender, national origin, and sexual orientation discrimination cases are a core practice area for Guttman, Buschner & Brooks, PLLC.

From active litigation to amicus briefs, giving voice to those who cannot be heard or that must be heard is an essential part of who we are and why we practice law. Whether the discrimination involves law enforcement, educational opportunity, housing, healthcare, or employment, we want to make a difference and leave the world a better place for all.

In 2020, Guttman, Buschner & Brooks, PLLC served as lead counsel in a civil rights class action settlement – the result of extensive litigation – that will bring testing and treatment for Hepititis C to 17,000 South Carolina prison inmates.
